The life of our 1935 Ford pickup

This truck was purchased new in May 1935 by a farmer in Austin, Indiana. The price was less than $500.00 new. The truck spent several years hauling produce to and from Louisville, Kentucky to the farm in Austin, Indiana until one day the ole truck simply died.

The truck sat for many years in the Indiana barn covered with a tarpaulin. My friend and builder of the truck located the truck some 20 years prior to obtaining it. Stanley tried all this time to buy the truck but to no avail, as the truck was not for sale.

In 1994, the ole farmer passed away, leaving the truck to the widow and shortly thereafter, she phoned Stanley and said "come get your ole truck" as Pop wanted you to have it after his death.

Stanley made a fast trip to Austin, Indiana from Jeffersonville, Indiana and brought the ole truck home, where it would be re-born into what it is today,  "A beautiful Ford pickup street rod".

We purchased the truck in 1999 and immediately disassembled it, re-painted it, replaced the engine, rebuilt the transmission and tons of small items replaced.

The original builder (left), Stanley Craven had a disabling stroke in 1999 resulting Jim Hutchens (kneeling left) to purchase the truck. This began a whole new life for the little truck. We drove it during 2000 as is, then in 2001 we decided to rebuild the truck and applied the raspberry pearl base coat - clear coat paint. Later we installed a new 2002 GM crate engine, rebuilt the transmission and added lots of accessories.
